Thyme shoots with leaves are harvested during flowering. For drying drugs, fresh plants are harvested no later than the beginning of August. Thyme is used in cooking meat, fish and vegetables. Fresh and dried thyme is added in small amounts to vegetable and meat soups. It is added to vegetables, especially legumes. Thyme can be added to sour milk, cottage cheese, sprinkled with cheese. Thyme is used to make homemade cheeses. Thyme tea is delicious and healthy. It helps with bronchitis and other upper respiratory illnesses.
