Perennial fine bows. 120 days from sowing to harvest! The leaves of the chives are tubular, juicy, covered with a layer of wax and finer than ordinary onions. Bows are high in vitamin C. Chives are harvested when the bows are 15 - 20 cm long. They can be cut one by one or cut all 2 to 3 cm above the ground. Blooms pink decorative flowers.
Chives seeds are sown from April to June. The optimum temperature for seed germination is + 15-20C. When the soil warms up to around + 10C, root growth accelerates. After seed germination, the seedlings branch well. In the 3rd growing year they can have> 50 shoots. Chives tolerate frost very well down to -40C. At the end of June, in the long light, the chives bloom en masse.
